Lynne and I are engaged.
This is the ring I used to propose to Lynne on the 9th of April 2003. It's made of very fine Blackwood veneers (<0.1mm) I created using a plane and laminated them together into a ring. The 'diamonds' are made from fiddleback redgum. The ring is treated with Tung oil to make it last.
This is the 12th ring I made to try and perfect the technique (I decided that a perfect ring could wait until later). It's still a little rough - the glue is hard to remove from the detailed sections. Perhaps a 'dremel' would help here.
