There are two galahs(Eolophus roseicapillus) nesting in this tree |
Not sure what bird this is, possibly a regent bower bird? More likely a Golden Whistler (Pachycephala pectoralis). |
I clearly need to learn to drive my camera better, but these lorikeets were too cool to ignore. |
David, in his usual style, has found a four leaf clover(which is weed, but hey!) |
We sat down and tried to work out how to make the camera take a delayed shot. |
Here's a shot of two Australian pelicans(Pelecanus conspicillatus) from the bird hide. Taken on maximum zoom across the sun. |
Another shot. |
Around the lake is a moss filled swamp. |
There are some nice eastern swamphens(Porphyrio porphyrio) which are very tame. |
A small yellow ranunculus, not sure of the species. |
A while back there was a site posted containing pictures of pylons. I thought I would have a go at taking some pictures too. Here are 352 and 353 silhouetted against a sunny winter sky. |
354 and 355 make a valiant effort towards clearing the sky of clouds. |
354 statuesque against the blue sky. |
354 proudly showing its name in crisp black and white. |
The hill side on the way back to the tearoom. |
Some kids flying kites(Not Haliastur :-). |
We had arvo tea at the new teahouse at the ranger's hut. |
Outside the tearoom there were some lorikeets trying to go to sleep. |
They are Rainbow Lorikeets(Trichoglossus haematodus). |
A happy family ready to go home. |
