Our trip to Jell's park, Melbourne

There are two galahs(Eolophus roseicapillus) nesting in this tree
Not sure what bird this is, possibly a regent bower bird? More likely a Golden Whistler (Pachycephala pectoralis).
I clearly need to learn to drive my camera better, but these lorikeets were too cool to ignore.
David, in his usual style, has found a four leaf clover(which is weed, but hey!)
We sat down and tried to work out how to make the camera take a delayed shot.
Here's a shot of two Australian pelicans(Pelecanus conspicillatus) from the bird hide. Taken on maximum zoom across the sun.
Another shot.
Around the lake is a moss filled swamp.
There are some nice eastern swamphens(Porphyrio porphyrio) which are very tame.
A small yellow ranunculus, not sure of the species.
A while back there was a site posted containing pictures of pylons. I thought I would have a go at taking some pictures too. Here are 352 and 353 silhouetted against a sunny winter sky.
354 and 355 make a valiant effort towards clearing the sky of clouds.
354 statuesque against the blue sky.
354 proudly showing its name in crisp black and white.
The hill side on the way back to the tearoom.
Some kids flying kites(Not Haliastur :-).
We had arvo tea at the new teahouse at the ranger's hut.
Outside the tearoom there were some lorikeets trying to go to sleep.
They are Rainbow Lorikeets(Trichoglossus haematodus).
A happy family ready to go home.
