Canberra

Over the 1998-1999 summer I worked in canberra and had numerous trips. Unfortunately, I only had a camera for one trip, namely, the trip to mount pigeonhouse. I also have some pictures taken toward the end of my stay in canberra

At questicon(the national science museum) there is a huge ball made of granite resting on a layer of water about 0.5mm deep. Once set in motion the ball continued to rotate for more than 15 minutes.
One of dad's arty farty shots...
Malcom Newey, Dad and Mum.

For our last weekend in canberra a group of us decided we needed to go for a bush walk, we eventually decided on climbing pigeonhouse(dovecote?) mountain. The final expedition consisted of Matt/Wendy and Wendy/Matt(Yeah, they're inseparable!), Cosmo, Daniel, Mark and me. We went down to the coast in Matt/Wendy's car and Cosmo's ute.

The last breakfast at burgmann.. Probably the least flattering picture of Mark in existance...
Tridge driving while Paulus throws in random suggestions and snide remarks... Peter watching in horror. :-)
Every friday a group of random people get together and play cards. Here they are.
The daily computer science world domination planning committee. The "Pinky and the Brain" cartoons were based on these 'discussions'.
After failing once again at world domination we take out our aggression on some innoccent soccer balls(and you thought manchester united fans were rough!)
Every friday evening we played ultimate. I'm probably more of a hinderance than a help in these games; but they have to even it out somehow...
Most of the NSW side of the Hume highway(from canberra) looks like this.
and this...
Flat rock hill seemed to consist of an enormous(1km) slab of granite. Pity I couldn't actually get a good shot of it. Here is the peak next to it(you can see the edge of the slab on the left side of the image.
Finally home!
And mum and dad helping to use up the rest of the film... :-)

Other places I went to while in canberra(currently without pictures):
