Two facts I recently gleaned from my random study:
- Dairy prevents the absorption of excess fat and helps the body to regulate weight. It somehow binds to excess fat but still gives you the feeling of satiety.
- Cheese is nearly ideal for cleaning your teeth after sugar, being alkaline, mechanical cleaning, soft on your teeth (toothbrushes are harmful directly after food) and antibacterial.
So perhaps the tradition of having cheese platters at the end of a meal is actually a clever piece of observational medicine.
Just avoid the crackers and chocolate.
